The Long Run explains new research on aging and healthy living for readers without a science degree. A high-school knowledge of biology and chemistry is enough.

Where the articles come from

Every night, a program collects new papers from journals that specialise in aging research (Nature Aging, Aging Cell, GeroScience, npj Aging, The Lancet Healthy Longevity and others), from large general journals such as Nature Medicine, Cell, JAMA and The BMJ when a paper is about aging, from the preprint servers bioRxiv and medRxiv, and from new results posted on ClinicalTrials.gov. The searches run through Europe PMC, a free database of biomedical literature.

From these, an AI (Claude, by Anthropic) picks up to five studies a night and writes one article about each. Interesting studies that don’t fit into one night wait in a queue for a later night.

What this site is not

These articles explain research. They are not medical advice, and a single study is rarely enough to change what anyone should do. Many results here come from mice, worms or cells and may never apply to people. Please talk to a doctor before changing medication, supplements, diet or exercise because of something you read here.

The texts are written by an AI and can contain mistakes. If you find one, please let us know.
